Continuous and discontinuous finishing processes are equipped with DOLLFUS & MULLER felts. During this final process, hot cylinders or plates give to the hide the requested pattern or effect.

Continuous finishing process
During this process the hide is conveyed on felt and then goes through cylinder under high pressure in order to provide the final touch to the skin.
A complete range of felts adapted to the different kinds of processes, from ironing to deep embossing, for soft / thin leather to heavy one, are available. DOLLFUS & MULLER felts are designed to avoid any risk of folds or non homogeneous embossing. The soft surface is the result of a specific treatment wich allows a constant thickness and hardness overall the surface. Anti static fibers are used to warranty the best results.

Discontinuous finishing process
The skin is put on the felt pad. A hot graining or ironing plate come down to press against the skin in order to give the final touch. This process can be repeated several times till the full skin is grained or ironed.
DOLLFUS & MULLER felt pads are delivered in 100% wool, with bevelled edges. The wool is washed and carbonised so that no piece of trash remains inside the wool. The standard thickness is 20mm but other thicknesses are available. Concerning the density, in regards of the kind of leather processed various density values are made (from 300 to 1000).
