DOLLFUS & MULLER manufactures sleeves and endless felts for discontinuous or continuous setting out machines. These machines are used to stretch, smoothen the hide and to squeeze out the moisture excess in order to increase its surface before drying.

Continuous setting out process
During this process, the hide is conveyed on blades fitted cylinders which stretching and smoothen the hide before going through two felts which are removing the moisture excess.
DOLLFUS & MULLER felts are available in different weights from 7,5 to 8,3 Kg/m² and in various fibers mixes or 100% synthetic. Both felts have a special surface treatment which optimizes the stretching effect.

Discontinuous setting out process
This process is carried out by a setting out machine that consists of two rollers covered with sleeves, and a blunt spreading helical blade that stretches the hide.
DOLLFUS & MULLER sleeves can be provided for wet blue tanning (in mixt qualities, 70% synthetic, 30% wool), for after dyeing and greasy hides (in 100% synthetic qualities), and for very sensitive leather (100% wool). All the sleeves are perfectly dimensionally stabilized and treated to avoid any risk of fibers loss.
