Sammying machine
The sammying machines absorb the grease from the hide during the wet process in tanneries, either wet blue or wet white.
The sammying machine is equipped with 2 or 3 or 5 or 6 pressure rollers, that press the hides in order to take out the fats. The more the sammying machine is equipped with pressure rollers, the more productive can be the sammying machine.
The hides are conveyed on felts through the sammying machines which absorb the fats and as well the pressure by the rollers. For a good absorption of the grease, the felts need to be always working wet.
For sammying machines, Dollfus & Muller is manufacturing sammying felts, either mixed felts or synthetic felts. The felt varies according to the number of pressure cylinders in the sammying machine as well as of the type of leather processed. Black felts can me made for automatic surface measuring devices.
